Here at The Broken Arrow, we have enjoyed a working relationship and genuine love with our red Border Collies. We enjoy their vitiality, willness to work hard, friendship, good nature, and companionship.

| We do not show our dogs. Instead, they are our working partners and friends with our livestock operation. Currently we have one older red female, and a young red male that is just starting to work cattle for us. Both are chocolate color and are sunbleached to a lighter shade of red in the photos below. Both are registered with ABC and AKA. However, we personally prefer the ABC because of their standard to raise working stock dogs, instead of just "pretty" Border Collies. We think our dogs are just beautiful when they work stock for us, even in mud.

A sweetheart of a Border Collie that weighs about 35 pounds. During her career as a stock dog for us, she has had three healthy litters of pups and is a natural born mother with plenty of milk. Several of her pups became working stock dogs, and a few went into agility. We would like to raise one more litter from her before retiring her from duties as a mom. But nature sometimes doesn't co-operate, but time will tell.
Chip's mother was a small framed dog imported from Wale's and Chip took on her dainty features. Her dad, a big 60 pounds, once kept a cougar treed one night. Both parents of Chip's are reds and good working dogs from working bloodlines that are natural "heelers".
Chip, even though dainty, has her fathers constitution and shows no fear of varmits that wonder into the yard nor around cattle and she has a natural heeling instinct. She is quick and can move cattle even at 10 years of age! One of her favorite jobs is filling the alley way with cattle for pour-ons, weighing, and shots. |

| Dale is a good natured fellow with children, who matured a little slow, as often the male dogs do. He just keeps getting better at working stock each time we ask him to, and seems to really enjoy moving cattle into the alley way. He doesn't show signs of natural heeling yet, but we are hoping he will learn from Chip. |
